Chiropractic Care for Pregnant Women

Pregnancy can result in your spine or joints becoming misaligned. Here are some key ways that chiropractic care can help during pregnancy.

Pelvis

When the pelvis is out of alignment, it can restrict the amount of space the baby has in the uterus. It also can prevent the baby from having enough room to get into good position for delivery. Proper alignment helps prevent these issues and allows for the best chance for a natural, noninvasive birth.

Back Pain

As your baby grows, the additional weight puts stress on your spine, affecting your posture and increasing back pain. Chiropractic care can realign your spine, relieving the pressure and reducing back pain.

Postpartum

Following up with regular visits to your chiropractor after delivery can be beneficial for new mothers. Treatment can resolve any misalignments that may have occurred during delivery and allow your body to heal and recover more effectively.

Neck and Joint Pain

Postural adaptations that a woman’s body undergoes to accommodate the growing baby can cause misalignment that can affect other areas of the body, such as by placing extra stress on your neck and/or joints. A realignment may help relieve neck or joint pain.
